Excellent governance is a key ingredient of ensuring bdht remains a successful customer focussed organisation. Over the years since transfer in 2004 the governance structure has been kept under review to ensure it continues to improve and meet the key needs of the organisation.
The current governance structure is:
bdht Board
12 members plus co-opted members
Main responsibility for the overall governance of the organisation.
bhi Board
7 members plus co-opted members
Subsidiary board reporting to the bdht Board
Responsible for the organisation’s new build development programme.
Compliance Committee
5 members, reporting to the main Board
Responsible for detailed work in respect of audit and risk management.
Remuneration Committee
5 members, reporting to the main Board
Responsible for the detailed work in respect of the remuneration and reward policies of the Trust.
Board Performance and Review Committee
5 members, reporting to the main Board
Responsible for the detailed work in reviewing the performance of the Board, the Board Chairman, Board members and the work of the committees.
Service Improvement Group
7 members (all tenants)
Reporting to the Board, but independent of the Board.
Responsible for the independent scrutiny of the Trust’s operational services.
