As part of the service charge for flats and other communal areas, we employ a cleaning contractor to carry out basic cleaning. For general needs flats we asked all our residents to set a standard that they were happy with. We developed a schedule of the cleaning around what you said. This means the communal areas are cleaned monthly in the summer and every 2 weeks in the winter. Our current contractors for cleaning are Boxer Cleaning Services who are based in Bromsgrove. We have resident cleaning auditors to monitor the cleaning on our estates. For the sheltered schemes, cleaning is on a more regular basis as the communal areas are used much more.
Residents in flats are still responsible for keeping their communal areas clean and tidy.
