gas and gas servicing

What is Gas Servicing?

Every year we will visit your home to carry out safety checks. This covers your central heating, boiler and gas fires. We are required to carry out these checks by law. For your safety, please let us in. We will contact you when your gas service is due.

If you have a gas supply into your property, we need to do a check even if you may not use the gas supply.

Remember, if you smell gas:

  • Do not smoke, use matches or naked flames
  • Do not use electrical switches or mobile phones
  • Open doors and windows
  • If you can, turn the gas off at the meter
  • Phone Transco on 0800 111 999 to report a gas leak.
  • You should then call us on 0800 0850 160
  • Or, if the leak is out-of-hours, on 0800 030 4254

Each year more than 30 people die from faulty gas equipment. Make sure your family is not at risk.
