Upper Austin Road – Community Regeneration
We are committed to improving your communities. One example of our work is the regeneration and refurbishment work in the Upper Austin Road area of Charford.
This part of the estate sprang up in the early 1960s. Some of the houses lose heat quickly and suffer from damp.
As part of this project, we will improve more than 90 homes in the area. They will receive work to improve their appearance and energy-rating. This includes replacing kitchens, bathrooms, doors and windows. Some boilers will be replaced and insulation will be improved. The old external staircases will be replaced with modern glass pods. The area will be landscaped and traffic calming will help to reduce speeding. There will also be a new children’s play area.
