your rent explained

Paying rent and maintenance costs for your home is a commitment you make to us. It is essential so we can continue to provide you with the services you need from us. We calculate your rent using a model provided by the government.

Rents are set so that costs are covered whilst not making a profit. That way, we can keep them affordable.

Any rent increases are only within these guidelines. We have made a commitment to meet the government target rent levels by 2012. The majority of our rents are already at, or very close to these targets.

Maintenance Charges

Costs are calculated on an annual basis, they cover elements such as communal areas, cleaning, alarms, aerials, etc. Both residents and leaseholders pay these charges.

Paying Your Rent

Rent is charged weekly, every Monday. It is important that you pay promptly. If you are entitled to benefits, please contact Bromsgrove District Council to make sure they have all your details. They pay Housing Benefit directly to us, so you don’t have to worry about it. Supporting People is another benefit that can help you pay for some of our services.
