bromsgrove supported housing

What is supported housing?

Supported or sheltered housing is designed for older or disabled people. bdht owns 21 supported housing schemes in the Bromsgrove district, about 800 properties in total.  Some are flats and some are bungalows.  All properties have their own lounge, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom(s) and front door.  Many also have their own garden.

Some schemes also have some extra shared areas such as a community room and kitchen where residents can meet to have a chat and socialise.  There may also be a laundry and a guest room where family can stay when they come to visit.

Extra Care

In 2008 bdht opened Bromsgrove’s first Extra Care scheme.  This scheme has 92 properties, some flats and some bungalows.  Most of the properties are for rent but some can be bought.

The scheme has a restaurant, a community room and kitchen, a hobbies room, a hairdressing salon, a beauty room, two assisted bathing rooms, a laundry and two guest rooms.  There is also a 24 hour on-site care team for residents who need help with personal care like washing and dressing.
