Throughout 2019, our team will be volunteering in a range of projects and supporting local good causes with the gift of time as part of our new 1,000 Hours charity campaign.

With more than 130 of our employees swapping one day or 7.5 hours on the job to pledge support for local community initiatives, our 1,000 hours of volunteering will provide benefits to a wide range of communities.

To launch the campaign, eight of our volunteers visited Primrose Hospice in St Godwald’s Road on Tuesday 14th May.

Together, members of our accountancy, plumbing, and customer service departments rolled up their sleeves and spent the day digging, weeding, pruning and sprucing up the hospice’s much-loved outdoor sanctuary.

Jo Wright, Volunteers’ Manager at Primrose Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to bdht’s green-fingered volunteers.  It was an extremely hot day but the team weren’t deterred and worked tirelessly to give our outdoor space a makeover.  We are absolutely delighted with the results.”

Samantha Powell, HR Officer at bdht, said: “As a not-for-profit organisation, everything we do is about best serving our residents. The 1,000 Hours campaign is designed to empower our staff to make time to make a difference in their community and we’ve been overwhelmed by their enthusiasm to take part.”
