Affordable homes at Bellway’s new development in Bromsgrove have been handed over to bdht, the housing association that will manage them.

whitford heights handoverThe developer is building 370 new homes at Whitford Heights, off Whitford Road in the town, under its Bellway and Ashberry Homes brands. Across the two developments, 148 of the homes will be available for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

The housebuilder handed over 19 of the affordable properties – a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom homes – to Bromsgrove District Housing Trust in July.

Bellway at Whitford Heights will comprise 184 homes while Ashberry Homes at Whitford Heights will feature 186 properties, with a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes for private sale.

Angela Nurse, Sales Manager at Bellway West Midlands, said: “The build programme is progressing very well here at Whitford Heights and this has allowed us to hand over 19 of the affordable properties on site to Bromsgrove District Housing Trust.

“These high-quality and energy-efficient properties will be made available to local people though low-cost rent and shared ownership, which means people who perhaps cannot afford to buy can secure a modern new-build home and stay close to family and friends.

“In total, we will be delivering 148 affordable properties across the two sites which accounts for 40 per cent of the build, with a mix of homes designed to help produce a diverse and vibrant new community which really meets the needs of local people.

“This working relationship between Bellway and Bromsgrove District Housing Trust demonstrates the wider benefits new homes developments bring to communities.”
