We’re thrilled to share that our Housing Officer, Anne Hill, has been named as a Housing Champion in industry magazine, Housing Today.

The Top 30 Housing Champions 2025 list shines a national spotlight on people working in housing who go the extra mile in their day-to-day roles to support residents, improve communities and truly make a difference. Anne has done exactly that, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Anne has been with bdht for 16 years, starting as a Sheltered Housing Officer before becoming a Housing Officer. She is known across the organisation and in the community for her compassion, commitment and no-nonsense approach to helping vulnerable customers, managing ASB cases and always striving to improve outcomes for the wider community.

During her time with bdht, Anne has played a vital role in supporting customers experiencing domestic abuse. Through this work she has become a qualified Domestic Abuse Champion and Visual Evidence Verification Lead.

She has led work with Women’s Aid to establish two safe houses for people fleeing domestic abuse, supported a customer with dementia who was living in crisis with no family, and helped a customer with learning difficulties and alcohol dependency move into more suitable accommodation.

Anne’s work is a perfect example of what great housing support looks like, it’s about more than buildings, it’s about people, relationships and trust.

Anne said:

“The customers and my colleagues make this job so rewarding. I’m proud to advocate for those who struggle to access support, working across agencies to improve lives. I don’t give up on people and I’m fortunate to help give a voice to those who need it most.

“Seeing happier outcomes for customers is why this work matters and making a lasting difference in people’s lives is what I’m most proud of.”

Anne’s Housing Champions recognition reflects what we value most at bdht – listening to our residents, building stronger communities and making sure everyone has the support they need to thrive.

We’re proud to have people like Anne in our team, people who live our values and go out of their way every day to do the right thing.

From all of us at bdht, congratulations Anne and thank you for everything you do.
