Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (bdht) Chief Executive, Mike Brown is stepping down from his position at Bromsgrove’s largest provider of affordable housing, after 14 successful years at the helm.

Managing Director, Mark Robertson who has worked alongside Mike since the trust was first established in 2004, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive and will officially start in his new role on Wednesday 1st August.

bdht, which owns or manages one in 10 homes in the district, started with 3,000 properties when the trust was first set up and has recently reached a major milestone by providing its 4,000th home. The housing association is a leading employer within the region and has been a top 10 performer in the annual Best Workplaces™ competition, three years in succession and came second in its category (for companies with 50-499 employees) in this year’s Great Places to Work® awards.

Mark commented: “I am really pleased to become Chief Executive of bdht. Mike leaves behind him an impressive legacy and bdht is a vibrant and healthy business which is regularly achieving high customer satisfaction levels. The trust is in a really good position and I am looking forward to continuing to drive the business forward, whilst building and enhancing our local communities.”

Mike commented: “I have been very privileged to have had the opportunity to make a difference for the people and communities of Bromsgrove, but I am looking forward to the next stage in my life which includes a move to mid-west Wales where I intend to walk extensively and enjoy the scenery, sea and seasons. I wish Mark all the best for the future, he has a solid understanding of the business and I know the company will be in safe hands.”
